Vintage / antique Japanese ikat. Hand loomed. Natural indigo.

Egasuri or 'picture ikat' is highly collectible and of the highest quality. Design features the auspicious turtle and crane.

Linen; could be cotton or fine hemp. Sheer when held up to the light.

Excellent condition. There are some expertly stitched boro patches.

The full length measures 280cm. Exactly half way down the length there is a 10cm split into one edge. This would have helped make the collar of the garment it came from. You may select the full length or the half length.
