Traditional Japanese kasuri cotton. Thick and strong.

Artisan made. Woven ikat fabric in black, red and khaki green.

Indigo dye was used to create the very deep black color. The thread must have been immersed a huge number of times. At the ends where it has been cut the tinge of indigo blue can be seen.

Japanese ikat is renowned for it's high quality. This piece is in excellent condition. No marks, holes or patches.

It was once part of a kimono. It was taken apart for reuse.

The full length was 266cm. Half has been sold. The remaining piece measures:

Width: 33.5cm / 13.18"
