Ka gasuri is a traditional type of Japanese ikat. The 'ka' means mosquito which refers to the very fine detail in the weave.

Hand loomed hemp linen. White with black detail.

The texture is quite smooth and the fabric is soft.

Vintage, of early 1900s.

It was once part of a garment that has been taken apart for reuse.

It is in excellent condition. Some areas are not pure white, there may be very slight/light marks here and there.
