Japanese vintage hemp / linen fabric.

Vintage, although age can not really be determined.

It has been used before as tiny stitch holes can be seen at each end. However, whatever garment it used to be was taken apart for professional cleaning and reuse. The selvedge edges have an interesting shape and show signs of being pulled taught in the araihari* cleaning process.

As a result, the fabric is in excellent condition and is slightly crisp. Even after washing, the rich dye is still vibrant and totally even.

A very high quality fabric indeed that looks wonderful with the light passing through it.

This could make an excellent noren curtain.
