Traditional Japanese shima kasuri cotton. Artisan made. Hand woven striped ikat fabric. This was once part of a futon cover. It is a very fine weave, light to medium weight. The photo shows an area of fading on one part, this is only on one side. Otherwise, excellent condition.

Japanese ikat is renowned for its high quality. An excellent example of Japanese folk textiles of the early 20th century.
