Antique cotton of Taisho era. Early 1900s.

Hand loomed. Dyed with natural indigo. Very fine weave. This is a very dark blue, it looks black.

This is shyousei gasuri which would have been used to make a students 'uniform' kimono. The quality is in the fine detailed weave.

Extremely high quality cotton, artisan made.

It was once part of a kimono and has been taken apart for reuse. The condition is excellent, almost as new. There is some discoloration from age / storage.

There are two tiny boro patches as can be seen in the last two photos.
