Meiji era kaya mosquito net. Dates back to late 1800s.

It would have been part of a larger textile hung around a futon of a Meiji era peasant home. The age and quality make this a great collector piece.

Kaya always reminds me of fishing net. It would be great to add to an eclectic nautical/beach theme.

Very rare and highly collectible Japanese antique boro* textile.

Hand loomed hemp.

Natural indigo dye.

This light, rough textile looks amazing hung over a window with the light falling through.

* This is a highly collectible folk textile. An excellent example of Japanese utilitarian boro used around the home. Indigo cotton and hemp became quintessential Japanese fabrics that were never thrown away and always reused.
