Traditional Japanese kasuri cotton.

Length: 139cm / 1.5 yards
Width: 35cm / 13.77"

Excellent condition. There is a light brown mark across the width near one end. This was originally the outside layer of the bolt and the mark is from storage. Otherwise great.

Kasuri is the Japanese word for ikat. Traditional Japanese kasuri is woven from indigo dyed cotton. The most common type is machine woven cotton made in Taisho / early Showa era. This is often referred to as Bingo kasuri after a popular brand. Splash patterns are repetitive shapes such as this. The finer the pattern, the higher the quality.
