Vintage Japanese kimono. Showa era, early to mid 1900's. Artisan made hand loomed ikat cotton.
Threads dyed with indigo. The fine weave design and the very deep indigo dye show the high quality of the fabric and the garment.

Hand sewn. Lined across the shoulders and seat only.

Excellent example of traditional Japanese peasant folk wear. Condition almost as new. Ready to wear.

Also, an excellent source of very high quality fabric if you wanted to take it apart for reuse.

Measurements taken laying flat. For chest circumference double the the measurement below.

Length: 130cm / 51.18"

Across the back, pit to pit: 60cm / 23.62" (Double this for chest measurement).

Across the back, cuff to cuff: 123cm / 48.42"
